Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in customer service, data entry, or office administration
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion
  • Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical ability to perform duties including sitting for long periods, stooping, bending, and manual dexterity for operating office equipment
  • Willingness to adhere to company safety protocols including use of PPE
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with patients and staff

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Computer literacy required
  • 1-2 years of customer service, data entry, administrative, office management, or clerical experience
  • Experience in health or public sector organizations helpful but not necessary
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of business office procedures, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic arithmetic
  • Familiarity with medical insurance and billing practices
  • Ability to operate office equipment including multi-line phone systems
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to sort and file materials accurately
  • Ability and willingness to assist patients with check-in and check-out processes

Job Duties

  • Perform all front desk operations and use practice management system to ensure smooth patient registration and checkout processes
  • Greet patients and verify or input demographic information into the system
  • Collect and input valid licenses and insurance information
  • Collect and post co-payments and payments at time of service
  • Maintain and organize patient documents and files
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and take messages
  • Reconcile co-pays and payments collected daily
  • File, label, and send outbound and inbound faxes
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle patient medical records discreetly
  • Perform charge entry process as required
  • Complete referrals for specialists
  • Manage prior authorization requests from patients and providers
  • Room patients when provider is ready
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
