The Receptionist position at Foundations Health is a per diem role specifically tailored to support the behavioral health clinic during weekends, working Saturdays from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, the Receptionist plays a crucial role in establishing a welcoming and professional environment. The position involves greeting and assisting visitors, managing telephone communications efficiently, and handling multiple clerical responsibilities. The Receptionist ensures patient intake procedures are handled smoothly, including enrolling new patients in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and providing necessary patient packets.

This role requires the ability to manage various administrative functions such as maintaining the physician’s daily schedule, reconciling cash boxes, and ensuring the waiting area remains tidy and professional. Effective communication skills are essential, as the Receptionist responds to inquiry calls, schedules new patient appointments, and supports healthcare providers and patients alike. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years experience with multi-line telephone switchboard
  • proficiency with computer systems
  • prior experience in healthcare or hospital setting preferred
  • availability to work Saturdays from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to maintain a professional and welcoming environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 2 years experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard, preferably in a health care environment
  • computer skills
  • any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Greet and assist all visitors, ensuring they sign the visitor log and obtain a visitor pass
  • enroll new patients in the Electronic Health Record and provide new patient packet
  • complete billing episode and patient check-in upon arrival
  • answer and disseminate all incoming calls on the switchboard in a professional and courteous manner within 3 rings
  • provide assistance to patients and employees as needed
  • facilitate inquiry call sheet and route to clinician for inquiry calls
  • schedule new patient intake appointments
  • maintain MD schedule in EHR and provide to physician daily
  • reconcile cash box and submit to business office daily
  • ensure work area and waiting area are clean and professional at all times
