This urgent care front desk position at AFC is a PRN/part-time role, requiring availability for two to three shifts per week, including some evenings and weekends. The role centers on insurance verification, billing, and front desk administration. The successful candidate will act as the clinic's revenue protection specialist and patient financial counselor, responsible for verifying insurance coverage prior to services being rendered, thereby preventing claim denials and maximizing revenue capture. This detail-oriented Medical Receptionist will greet patients warmly, manage patient check-ins, schedule appointments, and process payments efficiently while maintaining organized records and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

The ideal candidate must have experience in insurance verification and medical billing, possess strong problem-solving skills, and be able to explain complex insurance concepts clearly and empathetically to patients. They must be tech-savvy with medical billing software and EMR systems and demonstrate the ability to handle difficult financial conversations with professionalism that ensures patient satisfaction. AFC offers specialized training in insurance verification and patient financial counseling as well as clear pathways for career growth within the organization.

The position requires a high school diploma, with X-Ray Tech, Medical Assistant, or related certifications considered a plus. Active BLS certification is required or must be obtained during onboarding. Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, reflecting factors such as experience, skills, and certifications. AFC supports employee well-being and promotes a diverse workforce as a key driver of innovation and excellence in patient care. This role is an excellent opportunity for those looking to develop marketable healthcare revenue cycle management skills and contribute directly to patient care and clinic success.
