Job Description
American Family Care (AFC) is a leading primary and urgent care company in the United States, recognized for its commitment to providing accessible, high-quality healthcare services. Operating seven days a week on a walk-in basis, AFC offers comprehensive episodic treatment for acute illnesses, injuries, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each state-of-the-art center is equipped with an onsite laboratory and in-house x-ray capabilities, ensuring timely and efficient medical care. AFC's extensive network serves a wide demographic, making healthcare convenient and straightforward for patients who may require immediate or routine care without long wait times.
AFC also serves as the parent company to AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF), which operates franchised business locations with variations in job duties and benefits that reflect local needs. This expansive network enables AFC to maintain high standards across multiple sites while tailoring services to individual communities.
The position available is for a Patient Registration Specialist at one of AFC's franchised locations. This role is integral to the daily operational success of the clinic, focusing on patient check-in and check-out processes. The Patient Registration Specialist ensures accurate verification of insurance information, collection of payments, and secure maintenance of patient records and accounts. By managing patient flow efficiently and fostering positive patient relations, this role significantly contributes to the overall patient experience.
Key responsibilities include preparing the clinic for opening, handling patient registration and insurance verification, collecting payments, and addressing billing inquiries. The specialist must also respond promptly to patient needs, assist with follow-up appointments, and ensure all medical documentation requests are fulfilled. These duties require precision, organizational skills, and a patient-focused attitude.
The Patient Registration Specialist's tasks extend to financial accountability, including balancing daily patient charges across various payment methods and executing closing procedures such as securing financial assets and preparing documentation for submission. The role demands thorough record-keeping to maintain compliance and support clinic operations.
AFC prioritizes customer service excellence, and this position demands excellent communication skills, a professional appearance, and clarity in telephone mannerisms. The company values a detail-oriented approach and basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
Employment with AFC comes with benefits such as a Simple IRA Plan, employee discounts, a flexible schedule, and training and development opportunities. AFC is committed to equal employment opportunities and complies with fair chance hiring practices, considering applicants with arrest or conviction records in accordance with applicable laws. This commitment helps protect the community, staff, and patients while maintaining AFC's reputation for trustworthy medical service delivery.
This role is ideal for individuals seeking a rewarding healthcare environment where they can contribute to positive patient experiences, ensure efficient clinic operations, and develop professionally within a respected urgent care network.
