Job Duties
- Operates multiline telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel
- Sorts incoming mail and dispatches outgoing mail
- Schedules appointments for patients by mail, phone, or in person
- Greets and assists patients, schedules appointments, and maintains records and accounts
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays
- Records and updates financial information, records and collects patient charges, controls credit extended to patients, and files, collects, and expedites third-party claims
- Maintains confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
