Job Requirements
- High school graduate
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to patients, colleagues, and vendors
- Ability to work independently and accurately
- Ability to perform well in a busy work environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient computer skills including Windows applications and EMR systems
- Strong typing and documentation skills
- Excellent customer service abilities
- Effective communication and telephone etiquette
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Prior experience in a healthcare or administrative role is preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Greet incoming patients using friendly, respectful communication
- Obtain and document up-to-date demographic information for patients, including insurance and license details
- Accept patient payments and document transactions accurately
- Collect necessary co-pays and maintain transaction batches on credit card machine
- Balance cash drawer and assist billing office with payment issues
- Notify clinical staff of patient arrivals via EMR system
- Inform patients about appointment delays
- Handle incoming telephone calls with proper etiquette
- Manage forms for patient appointments including scanning, printing, assembling, and mailing
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits using computerized scheduling system
- Prioritize phone encounters and monitor automated confirmation calls
- Provide flexibility and teamwork support
- Utilize Windows-based computer applications proficiently
- Accurately transcribe and enter data
- Conduct patient health screenings and temperature checks
- Verify appointment times and manage rescheduling as necessary
