Job Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to patients, colleagues, and vendors
  • Ability to work independently and accurately
  • Ability to perform well in a busy work environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills including Windows applications and EMR systems
  • Strong typing and documentation skills
  • Excellent customer service abilities
  • Effective communication and telephone etiquette
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or administrative role is preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Greet incoming patients using friendly, respectful communication
  • Obtain and document up-to-date demographic information for patients, including insurance and license details
  • Accept patient payments and document transactions accurately
  • Collect necessary co-pays and maintain transaction batches on credit card machine
  • Balance cash drawer and assist billing office with payment issues
  • Notify clinical staff of patient arrivals via EMR system
  • Inform patients about appointment delays
  • Handle incoming telephone calls with proper etiquette
  • Manage forms for patient appointments including scanning, printing, assembling, and mailing
  • Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits using computerized scheduling system
  • Prioritize phone encounters and monitor automated confirmation calls
  • Provide flexibility and teamwork support
  • Utilize Windows-based computer applications proficiently
  • Accurately transcribe and enter data
  • Conduct patient health screenings and temperature checks
  • Verify appointment times and manage rescheduling as necessary
