Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general educational development (G.E.D.) required
- Six months previous customer service experience preferred
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Skilled in operating a computer including mouse/keyboard and navigating scheduling, registration, and patient care applications
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work in a diverse healthcare environment with diverse customer expectations
- Ability to work as a team
- Ability to keep patient information confidential
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend various written reports and documents
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently

Job Duties
- Register patients for appointments by collecting and verifying demographics and insurance information
- Greet, direct, and assist patients with questions to facilitate prompt and polite care
- Answer telephone calls to schedule appointments, take messages, direct calls to appropriate personnel, and handle patient matters
- Prepare records for office visits by reviewing electronic medical records/chart contents
- Handle insurance inquiries by answering questions, assisting with referrals, and completing paperwork to ensure timely insurance charge submission
- Process and distribute written communications and documents accurately
- Provide appropriate care specific to patient age to ensure understanding and comfort level as outlined in population specific criteria
