Job Requirements
- Demonstrate judgment, patience, integrity, organization, and prioritization in a multi-task environment
- English/Spanish fluency preferred
- At least 2 years experience in outpatient primary care medical setting
- Experience delivering services to persons with history of homelessness, mental illness, substance dependence and trauma
- Competent in using electronic medical record systems
- Ability to handle stressful situations and provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude
- Ability to remain solution-focused and respectful
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of de-escalation methods or willingness to be trained
Job Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working in an outpatient primary care medical setting
- Prior experience delivering services to persons with histories of homelessness, mental illness, substance dependence, and trauma
- Competent in the use of Electronic Medical Record Systems
- Ability to handle stressful situations while providing exceptional customer service
- Ability to display non-judgmental attitude
- Ability to remain solution-focused and respectful in all interactions
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of de-escalation methods or willingness to be trained
Job Duties
- Provide mentoring and training with a focus on customer service, teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution for reception staff
- Provide coverage for Medical Receptionists, Call Center Representative, Medical Records and Referrals team
- Ensure accurate patient insurance eligibility checks are performed on a consistent basis
- Maintain a clear understanding of insurance plans and communicate insurance information to the patients
- Review schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensure patient records are complete
- Work closely with the Practice Manager to handle patient complaints and follow through the patient complaint process to ensure excellent customer service experience
- Ensure that procedures are followed to request and collect all appropriate fees at check-in
