The receptionist role at St. Joseph's is a pivotal position supporting office operations and ensuring a smooth, efficient, and quality patient experience. This full-time day shift position involves working independently as well as collaboratively with other office staff, including close cooperation with the CNY Family Group. Key responsibilities include managing phone support through handling incoming and outgoing calls, reviewing clinical documents (CCDs) and routing them appropriately, and assisting in administrative tasks like scanning and faxing documentation. The receptionist will promote a healthy work environment, communicate regularly with management regarding goals and concerns, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
This role requires attention to detail to ensure scheduling is accurate and that all daily job functions are completed efficiently and on time. The receptionist acts as a vital communication link within the healthcare environment, using appropriate diction and maintaining courtesy in all interactions. The job demands competency with office equipment such as multi-line telephones, PCs, copiers, fax machines, and email systems, along with strong customer service skills. Educational requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, with business or secretarial training considered a plus. Preferably, candidates will have one to two years of related experience. The position offers opportunities for professional growth through orientation, continuing education, and skill development.
Work setting combines an office environment with potential exposure to clinical areas classified as Class I or II, ensuring safety and security standards are maintained. After an initial 4 to 8-week training period in the office, there may be an option to transition to remote work, depending on productivity and office needs. Physical demands include light work activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and lifting. As part of the St. Joseph's team, the receptionist interacts with diverse groups including employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, and regulatory agencies. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of related office or secretarial experience preferred
- Ability to use multi-line telephones and office equipment proficiently

Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Business school or formal secretarial training a plus
