Job Description
Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM) is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality reproductive health care and education. Committed to fostering a workplace grounded in diversity, equity, inclusion, respect, integrity, and innovation, PPRM creates an inclusive environment for all staff, patients, and community members. The organization emphasizes a strong customer focus and strives to maintain a dynamic atmosphere that supports both employees and the mission of reproductive health and rights. With health centers strategically located to serve a broad range of communities, PPRM continually works to ensure equitable access to vital health services.
This job posting is for a part-time Medical Receptionist role at PPRM, with approximately 30 hours per week. The position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 105, and operates under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position starts at $22.08 per hour and may go up to $25.62 per hour, with new hires generally offered between $22.08 and $23.78 per hour. Additional pay incentives include a $2.25 hourly premium for Spanish fluency upon successfully passing a language proficiency test. The work schedule typically involves Monday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This role is benefits eligible, offering an excellent package of health and wellness benefits.
As a Medical Receptionist at PPRM, you will be the welcoming face of the health center, responsible for providing empathetic, timely, and efficient patient care support, particularly in abortion services. Your duties will be crucial to ensuring that all patients feel comfortable, supported, and informed throughout their visits. In addition to greeting patients and visitors, your responsibilities include managing patient records and billing, facilitating smooth patient registration, check-in and check-out processes, verifying insurance and service cost estimates, and handling payments according to established revenue cycle and subsidy policies.
Your role also involves performing essential operational tasks such as managing inventory supplies for medications and materials, assisting with health center upkeep and cleanliness, and supporting patient follow-up communications. You will facilitate coordination of scheduling, referrals, and medical records management, including medication and supply pick-ups as allowed by regulation. As part of a highly collaborative health care environment, you will help maintain security protocols by screening visitors and participating in health center security procedures.
To succeed in this role, you must obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of hire and have reliable transportation. The part-time position offers accrued paid time off (PTO) and sick leave, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with extended mental health coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan with Safe Harbor contributions, and employee assistance programs including work-life partnerships. Paid family and parental leave benefits support the well-being of you and your family.
PPRM follows strict COVID-19 and flu vaccination protocols designed to protect employees and patients, requiring all health center-facing staff to either be vaccinated or wear masks during patient interaction. This ensures a safe environment conducive to quality care delivery. Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains is committed to equal employment opportunity, offering a respectful and non-discriminatory workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued.
