Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred
- Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred
- Excellent keyboard skills
- Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products
- Accuracy and dependability required

Job Duties
- Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department
- Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting
- Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member or provider in a timely manner
- Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity
- Handles appointment scheduling, insurance verification, copay collections, referrals, prior authorizations, and patient registration
- Supports providers with chart preparation, incoming and outgoing communications, and maintaining accurate patient records
- Maintains a smooth and welcoming experience for every patient
