Job Description

St Joseph's Health in partnership with Trinity Health is a prominent healthcare establishment dedicated to delivering compassionate and transformative healing services to the community. Renowned for its commitment to outstanding clinical outcomes and passionate patient care, the institution thrives on a foundation deeply rooted in the spirit of the Gospel. This healthcare provider is known for practicing justice, reverence, excellence, and integrity, which are its core values driving all operations and patient interactions. As an integral part of the broader Trinity Health network, St Joseph's upholds high standards in healthcare provision by fostering a healthy work environment and promoting a culture of respect and collaboration among its staff.

The full-time Receptionist role at St Joseph's Health is essential to the smooth functioning of the office operations and patient management processes. Working primarily the day shift from Monday to Friday with hours ranging from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, this position requires a professional adept at independently handling responsibilities while collaborating effectively with office colleagues and management. The receptionist acts as the first point of contact, providing exemplary customer service by greeting patients and visitors warmly and ensuring that the scheduling and administrative workflows contribute to a streamlined patient experience. This role incorporates a variety of tasks including managing appointment schedules based on provider preferences, facilitating pre-registration of patients, handling financial transactions such as co-pays and balances, and maintaining precise revenue reports to ensure appropriate billing.

Additional responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound phone communications, scanning and faxing vital documentation, performing patient check-ins and check-outs, and confirming appointments through phone calls. The receptionist must uphold strict confidentiality of all patient, family, and employee information and contribute proactively to a safe and orderly office environment. Proficiency with multiple office technologies such as PC terminals, multi-line telephones, fax machines, copiers, email systems, and typing equipment is crucial for success. This role demands strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a customer service-oriented approach to address the diverse needs of all stakeholders.

This position is supervised by a manager or coordinator and offers a competitive pay range between $19.00 and $26.85 per hour, depending on the individual's experience, skill level, and education. The healthcare setting involves light physical demands, including standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting, within an office environment that may expose employees to certain classified service-specific conditions. St Joseph's Health and Trinity Health maintain a commitment to equal employment opportunities, ensuring that all applicants receive fair consideration without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status. Candidates will join a workplace that values diversity and promotes a collaborative culture where differences are embraced to enhance compassionate, person-centered care.
