We are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic team. This full-time role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practices by providing essential reception and clerical services under the supervision of the practice manager and physicians. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling billing, collections, referrals, appointments, and general secretarial duties. Flexibility is key in this position as you will need to travel within 30 minutes of your home and be willing to float to various practice locations. This role offers a minimum hourly rate of $18.36 and opportunities to grow within a reputable healthcare institution.

The Medical Receptionist position involves managing front desk activities with professionalism and courtesy to ensure excellent patient experiences. Responsibilities include receiving and directing communications promptly, adhering to HIPAA guidelines, assisting patients through the sign-in process, and supporting financial functions such as billing and deposit preparation. The role also requires monitoring office supplies, managing patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring proper documentation and forms are completed, and providing assistance with our electronic medical record system. A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork, adaptability, and attention to detail as you will engage with patients, physicians, and team members to support practice efficiency and patient care quality. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to patient needs
  • Strong accountability and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to travel within 30 minutes of home and float to different locations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in using computer systems
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs
  • Strong sense of accountability and dedication to improving patient lives
  • Exceptional focus on teamwork and ongoing education
  • Prior receptionist or clerical experience in a medical office preferred
  • Experience with Epic or other EMR systems preferred
  • CPR certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Receives and directs all communication courteously and consistently
  • Greets patients and visitors promptly, courteously, and helpfully
  • Assists patients with the sign in process and responds promptly to their needs
  • Supports financial responsibilities including billing procedures and bank deposits
  • Monitors office supply inventory and initiates ordering of needed supplies
  • Manages patient check-in and check-out processes accurately and efficiently
  • Promotes patient satisfaction by providing excellent service and communicating potential issues
  • Maintains efficient and accurate filing and record maintenance systems
  • Adapts work schedule to meet the needs of the practice and cross covers as necessary
  • Serves as a pre-loader for the electronic medical records system
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned
