Job Requirements
- High school graduate or GED
- One or more years of receptionist experience preferably in outpatient healthcare
- Experience with computers and automated scheduling
- Experience handling and balancing cash
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Spanish
- Knowledge of outstanding customer service principles
- Ability to operate business equipment
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare insurance
- Ability to perform multitasking and prioritize effectively
- Ability to handle cash transactions securely and balance cash drawer
- Strong interpersonal and cultural sensitivity
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- One or more years of experience as a receptionist preferably in an outpatient healthcare setting
- Proficiency in English and Spanish with the ability to communicate without an interpreter
- Knowledge of medical terminology, grammar, and spelling
- Ability to operate general business equipment and perform clerical duties
- Familiarity with healthcare insurance processes and terminology
- Experience handling cash transactions and balancing cash drawers
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multitask
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity working with diverse populations
Job Duties
- Greet patients and visitors courteously and assist with registration
- Input patient demographic and insurance information into EMR
- Schedule patient appointments including ICD-10 coding and manage confirmations and cancellations
- Inform clinical staff when patients arrive and direct them appropriately
- Answer and route incoming telephone calls and handle medication refill requests
- Process patient check-out, including billing inquiries and collection of payments
- Assist with verifying patient referrals and respond to medical records requests
- Open and close office ensuring security and proper functioning of equipment
- Maintain front office workflow by following policies and supporting team efforts
