Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in a medical clinic or similar environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate professionally and courteously
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and regionally up to 10 percent of the time
  • Spoken and written fluency in English

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in a medical clinic or similar environment
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of medical insurance and electronic medical record systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accuracy
  • Ability to communicate professionally and courteously
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally up to 10%
  • Spoken and written fluency in English
  • Bilingual Chinese/English preferred

Job Duties

  • Interacts appropriately with patients and records information while greeting, checking-in, checking-out or scheduling appointments for patients
  • Conducts lobby checks to ensure organization and cleanliness
  • Serves as the gatekeeper for PCP and specialists schedules ensuring top patients are scheduled every 13 days
  • Utilizes computer equipment and programs to add new patient information, prints forms, schedule appointments, respond to emails and generate new patient packets
  • Conducts love calls and mails birthday and greeting cards to patients
  • Answers telephones, takes detailed messages, and directs messages appropriately
  • Communicates information about clinical personnel to patients
  • Verifies patient insurance and collects copays
  • Assists with scheduling follow-up and specialist referral appointments
  • Escorts patients to exam rooms ensuring their comfort
  • Acts as HEDIS champion by providing visibility of patient needs and reporting on hospitalizations
  • Presents customer service surveys and escalates issues for service recovery
  • Participates in daily and weekly huddles to discuss patient details
  • Regulates and monitors transportation including driver lists, medication deliveries, grocery deliveries, and coordinating rides
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Reviews patient information for accuracy
  • Transmits correspondence via mail, email or fax
  • Performs other duties as assigned
