The Medical Receptionist role at Penn Medicine Becker ENT & Allergy in Central Jersey is a full-time position designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced healthcare environment. Primary responsibilities include greeting patients warmly, managing patient check-in and check-out processes, accurately entering demographic data into the Epic electronic medical records system, and scheduling appointments. Attention to office organization is essential, including stocking patient rooms, maintaining cleanliness, and coordinating supply needs with the Office Manager.
Additional responsibilities involve answering patient inquiries regarding appointment scheduling, prior authorizations for imaging or medication refills, and assisting providers during procedures when necessary. Daily operations are supported by completing checklists for opening and closing the office, scanning patient charts into the EMR, and making follow-up calls. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of experience in a medical receptionist or medical assistant role preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster or qualified medical/religious exemption required
- ability to work full-time daytime hours Monday through Friday
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- capability to perform clerical and light clinical support tasks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year of experience as a medical receptionist preferred
- knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records systems preferred
- strong customer service and communication skills
- ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
- proficiency with computers and standard office software

Job Duties
- Greet patients and vendors
- obtain and enter patient demographic information into the Epic system
- check patients in and out
- room patients, take their vital signs and input into the EMR system
- schedule appointments for return and new patients
- review any documents given to patients by providers
- answer incoming calls regarding scheduling appointments or prior authorizations for imaging or medication refills
- assist providers in procedures
- follow daily routine opening checklist and closing checklist
- make sure each patient room is fully stocked
- keep front reception area clean and organized
- inform Office Manager if the office is running low on any office or medical supplies
- perform general clerical duties including scanning charts into the EMR system, making follow-up calls to patients, and use of email, phone, computers, and Google Apps
