ProHealth Physicians, a respected network within Optum, has an immediate opportunity available for the role of Medical Receptionist at their Family Medicine practice located at 599 Farmington Ave, Farmington, CT. This role focuses on supporting the care team and patients with critical front-office functions including greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments, handling telephone inquiries, collecting payments, and updating patient demographic information in the electronic health record (EHR) system. The Medical Receptionist is essential in creating a welcoming environment for patients while ensuring smooth administrative operations. This position also requires flexibility as the employee may be asked to provide coverage at other ProHealth locations based on business needs.
The work schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and Tuesday, Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with an anticipated shift to Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM hours in the fall. Compensation ranges from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour depending on experience and other factors. Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience
- 1+ year of receptionist or customer service experience
- intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

Job Duties
- Conduct check-in and check-out process
- answer incoming calls and use EHR to document details of patient inquiries
- conduct outreach to patients requiring appointments or service follow-up
- schedule appointments using standard scheduling protocols
- manage administrative in-basket pools and work queues
- scan documents into the EHR per standard protocols
- balance payments
- protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information
- provide coverage at other ProHealth locations on an ad hoc basis
- perform other duties as assigned
