Job Description

As a part of the EyeCare Partners family, Grene Vision Group in Augusta, KS is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) to join their dedicated team. This role serves as the vital first point of contact for patients, where establishing a welcoming, professional, and efficient atmosphere is essential. The Medical Receptionist plays a pivotal role in shaping patients' experiences by providing outstanding customer service both in person and over the phone, managing patient flow, ensuring proper handling of payments, and performing critical administrative tasks that keep the clinic running smoothly.

The position offers a competitive base salary with the potential for bonus incentives, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, vision, dental, and life insurance. The work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm with additional Saturday hours from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm as needed, and may require some flexibility for early or late shifts.

The successful candidate will be adept at multitasking and demonstrating a sense of urgency to respect both patient and doctor time. Precision in handling daily reconciliations and cash drawer management is important, alongside general clerical duties such as office cleaning and organization under the direction of management. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of relevant experience or training, and a strong desire to learn and grow within the eye care industry. The ability to interact professionally with colleagues at all levels, foster a positive team environment, and maintain a patient-centered focus is critical.

This role requires physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, bending, and other movements necessary to support essential functions within the clinic. Reliable transportation is needed to accommodate potential assignments across multiple locations when necessary. The position also demands proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • one year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • physical ability to perform essential job functions including frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting up to 25 lbs
  • strong fine motor skills and full use of hands
  • visual and auditory acuity including color, depth, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter in person or via phone
  • display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
  • answer phones both external and internal
  • assure prompt, courteous service at all times
  • practice urgency at all times with patients' time, as well as doctor’s time and schedule
  • manage patient flow in the office
  • knowledge of common fees charged for common visits and collect correct payments
  • complete daily reconciliations, close day, countdown cash drawer
  • perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by manager
