Job Description

CenterWell Senior Primary Care, a part of Humana Inc., is a prominent healthcare services provider dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care focused on seniors. This organization operates with a mission to provide proactive and preventive care through wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and minor injury treatment, ensuring holistic well-being for its patients. Located in Covington, Louisiana, the Covington clinic is an integral part of CenterWell’s network, striving to maintain a supportive and caring community where patients receive personalized attention from a dedicated outpatient team. The clinic’s environment emphasizes compassionate care, where medical professionals collaborate deeply to address not only physical health but also the emotional and social factors impacting patient outcomes.

Joining the Covington clinic means becoming a key member of a team that values integrity, empathy, and excellence. This role directly reports to the Center Administrator and is crucial in ensuring the seamless delivery of clinical and administrative support tailored to patient needs. CenterWell supports its associates with competitive benefits designed to nurture whole-person wellness, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, alongside retirement savings plans and paid leave options.

The role of Medical Receptionist at the Covington clinic is essential to maintaining smooth operations and fostering a welcoming experience for every patient and visitor. This full-time position requires a commitment to 40 weekly hours, with a salary range estimated between $38,000 and $45,800 annually. The position also includes eligibility for a bonus incentive plan based on company and individual performance metrics. The Medical Receptionist acts as a frontline liaison, managing multiple responsibilities that combine administrative efficiency with compassionate patient interactions.

Responsibilities encompass greeting patients and visitors warmly, both in person and over the phone, scheduling and managing appointments with precision, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, and handling billing and payment processes, including collecting copayments at the time of patient visits. This position demands keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the flexibility to handle a variety of tasks that keep the clinic functioning optimally.

Moreover, this role is patient-facing and is part of the company’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program, underscoring the importance CenterWell places on safety and public health compliance. Candidates must be prepared to participate in TB screening as a condition of employment.

CenterWell values candidates who bring experience from healthcare settings but also welcomes individuals with strong customer service backgrounds in retail, hospitality, or call centers, reflecting the company’s commitment to diverse skill sets and team inclusion. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with value-based care models, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

At CenterWell, patient care extends beyond medical treatment by addressing holistic needs and ensuring every patient feels valued and understood. This culture creates a supportive workplace for employees and fosters long-term relationships with patients. By joining CenterWell’s Covington clinic, you become part of a compassionate team dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the community through exceptional healthcare services and patient advocacy.
