Job Description
American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care providers in the United States, operating a wide network of state-of-the-art medical centers that serve patients seven days a week on a walk-in basis. AFC's facilities focus on the episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers' compensation cases, and occupational medicine, ensuring comprehensive care for a variety of patient needs. Each center is equipped with onsite laboratories and in-house x-ray capabilities to facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment. As the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF), AFC supports both company-owned and franchise-operated locations, each offering unique opportunities and benefits. Recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., AFC is committed to delivering patient-centric healthcare in a kind, caring, and economical manner. The organization prioritizes accessibility by providing convenient care at times and locations that fit patients' busy schedules.
This particular role, located within an AFC franchised business location, is a vital front-line position responsible for managing the patient intake and checkout process efficiently and professionally. The position involves verifying insurance information, collecting payments, maintaining up-to-date patient records, and facilitating smooth patient flow throughout the clinic. The Front Desk Representative directly impacts patient satisfaction by providing positive interactions, responding promptly to needs, and assisting with appointment follow-ups and medical documentation requests. Candidates will begin each day preparing the clinic for opening, including reviewing facility readiness, launching necessary system applications, and assembling patient registration materials. Throughout the day, the role manages registrations, updates records, answers patient inquiries, and balances daily patient charges against system reports to maintain financial accuracy. At the end of each day, responsibilities include completing closing procedures, preparing reports, securing financial assets, and maintaining thorough and accurate documentation.
AFC offers a great small business work environment with flexible scheduling, enabling employees to balance their professional and personal lives effectively. Compensation for this position is $16 per hour, with additional benefits such as paid time off, health insurance, dental insurance, retirement benefits, and more available depending on the franchise or company-owned location. While each franchise location manages its own employment policies, company-owned centers provide a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and matching 401(k) plans.
American Family Care emphasizes growth opportunities for employees seeking a rewarding career in healthcare, welcoming individuals eager to make a difference in the lives of others. This role provides hands-on experience in a healthcare setting, enhancing skills in customer service, medical clerical duties, and operational procedures. Working at AFC means joining a team dedicated to high-quality healthcare delivery while respecting the rights and needs of every patient in a supportive and professional environment. If you are motivated by providing compassionate care and excellent service, this position offers the chance to progress within a respected and fast-growing organization.
