This position is for an advanced Practice Support Assistant, a pivotal role within the medical team that balances clinical support with administrative functions. Working with a high level of autonomy and expertise, the Practice Support Assistant is essential in maintaining smooth operations within their department. Responsibilities include managing complex scheduling tasks, supporting patient-clinician relationships, and overseeing administrative duties such as verifying patient information, handling referrals, and completing prior authorizations. The role requires excellent customer service skills to resolve escalated issues and enhance patient satisfaction. Support assistants also serve as mentors and role models for peers, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and assist with staff onboarding and training.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the position located at 21 Bristol Drive, South Easton, MA. Compensation ranges from $17.98 to $32.12 per hour based on experience and other factors. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or ged
- minimum 1 year of customer service or healthcare experience
- access to reliable transportation and valid us driver's license
Job Qualifications

- associate's degree in medical office administration program preferred
- proficiency in microsoft office, scheduling software, and electronic medical records such as epic or equivalent
- strong problem solving and complex patient management skills preferred
Job Duties
- serve as a role model and mentor for support staff
- assist with onboarding and training
- manage complex scheduling tasks including appointment booking and patient outreach
- ensure accurate data collection and reporting
- handle follow-up activities and referral tracking
- deliver exceptional customer service and resolve escalated issues
- oversee waiting room operations and assist with check-in/check-out processes
- complete and process forms such as prior authorizations and prescription renewals
- collaborate with supervisors on coverage and workflow
- lead team huddles as needed
- participate in quality improvement initiatives and special projects
