Job Description

ProHealth - Enfield Pediatrics is part of the Optum family of businesses, a respected leader in healthcare committed to enhancing the health and well-being of communities it serves. Operating under UnitedHealth Group, one of the largest healthcare companies in the United States, ProHealth Physicians has grown extensively since its inception in 1997 and is recognized as the leading primary care physician organization in Connecticut. With over 90 locations statewide, ProHealth Physicians provides expert care to more than 360,000 patients, covering every county in Connecticut and delivering roughly 10% of the state's primary care services. The organization has been nationally recognized with distinctions such as CMS approved Accountable Care Organization (ACO) status and NCQA Level III Medical Home recognition, underscoring its commitment to quality, patient-centered care and innovative health solutions.

ProHealth - Enfield Pediatrics embodies these principles in its immediate need for a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join their team. This role is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week, primarily from Monday through Friday with a complex schedule that includes extended hours mid-week and rotating Saturday shifts. The Medical Receptionist plays a crucial frontline role in supporting medical providers and patients by managing check-ins and check-outs, scheduling appointments, answering incoming calls, processing payments, and maintaining accurate patient demographic data. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and a warm, patient-focused approach to ensure every patient experience is positive and efficient.

The Medical Receptionist will frequently utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to support daily operations, follow ProHealth’s established policies and workflows, and may be called upon to provide coverage at other nearby ProHealth locations as business needs arise. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in a community-focused environment where teamwork, resource sharing, and professional growth are highly encouraged. It is an ideal position for candidates seeking to build meaningful careers in healthcare administration while contributing positively to patient outcomes.

Working at ProHealth means being part of a forward-thinking organization that prioritizes employee success, offering competitive compensation with hourly wages ranging from $16 to $29 based on experience and qualifications. Employees benefit from an extensive package that includes paid time off starting from the first pay period along with 8 paid holidays, various medical plans with Health Spending Accounts or Health Savings Accounts options, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans such as a 401(k), an employee stock purchase plan, education reimbursement, employee discounts, and various voluntary benefits including pet and legal insurance.

ProHealth - Enfield Pediatrics not only commits to exceptional patient care but also to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees from all backgrounds have the opportunity to thrive. The company’s dedication to equitable healthcare and environmental responsibility reflects a broader mission to reduce health disparities and improve outcomes for all patients, positioning itself as a leader in offering compassionate, connected, and evolving healthcare services. This opening invites those who are detail-oriented, compassionate, and eager to grow in their healthcare careers to join a team where they can perform their life's best work. The role of Medical Receptionist at ProHealth - Enfield Pediatrics is more than a job; it is a chance to be a vital part of a health system that makes a difference every day.
