Job Description
CenterWell Senior Primary Care is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering proactive and preventive care tailored specifically for seniors. Through their network of clinics, including the Gulfport clinic located at 12057 US 49, Gulfport, MS, they focus on comprehensive and compassionate services such as wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and minor injury treatments. CenterWell's care model is distinctly personalized; their integrated healthcare teams give extensive time and attention so that patients’ physical, emotional, and social wellness needs are holistically addressed. As part of Humana Inc., a major player in healthcare services, CenterWell benefits from considerable resources and expertise that enable high-quality medical care designed around patient-centered principles and value-based care models.
The Medical Receptionist role at the Gulfport clinic is a pivotal position within the outpatient team, reporting directly to the Center Administrator. This role focuses on frontline patient interaction and administrative support to ensure the clinic runs efficiently while delivering exceptional service. The Medical Receptionist’s responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors warmly both in person and over the phone, managing appointment calendars effectively, coordinating closely with medical staff, and maintaining accurate patient records. Another critical aspect involves handling billing and payments, such as updating patient accounts and collecting copays during visits.
This full-time position requires a dedicated professional who values patient-facing work and contributes to the high standards of patient care upheld at CenterWell. The scheduled hours are 40 per week, offering a competitive salary range from $34,200 to $41,200 annually, with eligibility for a bonus incentive plan based on company and individual performance. Candidates joining this role become part of a supportive, caring community focused on improving senior health outcomes through coordinated and compassionate care.
The role also requires compliance with health safety protocols, including mandatory tuberculosis screening due to its patient-facing nature. Preferred candidates possess experience in value-based care models, familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, and bilingual skills in English and Spanish are highly advantageous. The work culture emphasizes inclusiveness and equal opportunity, respecting diversity and fostering a workplace free from discrimination.
Humana, the parent company, supports its employees with a comprehensive benefits package promoting personal wellness and smart healthcare choices. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision plans, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, generous paid time off including holidays and parental leave, disability insurance, and life insurance. This holistic approach reflects CenterWell’s commitment to whole-person well-being not only for their patients but also for their staff. Joining CenterWell as a Medical Receptionist means becoming a valued part of a larger mission to enhance senior health and provide healthcare experiences that truly put patients first.
