Job Description
CenterWell Senior Primary Care is a distinguished healthcare provider dedicated to delivering proactive and preventive care primarily focused on the senior population. Operating as part of Humana Inc., CenterWell integrates a unique, patient-centered care model that emphasizes wellness visits, physical exams, chronic condition management, screenings, and minor injury treatments. Their commitment to personalized healthcare allows for a comprehensive experience, where care teams, including physicians, nurses, and behavioral health specialists, spend significantly more time with patients to ensure holistic well-being. CenterWell’s approach goes beyond treating physical ailments, addressing emotional and social factors that influence patient health outcomes. The Gulfport clinic, located at 12057 US 49, Gulfport, MS, functions as an essential part of this integrated network of care, renowned for its dedication to quality and compassionate outpatient services.
The Medical Receptionist role at the Gulfport clinic is a pivotal position responsible for providing high-quality clinical support within a patient-focused environment. Reporting directly to the Center Administrator, the Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, both in person and over the phone. This role involves managing appointment scheduling and calendars, ensuring seamless coordination between patients and medical staff. A key responsibility includes maintaining and updating accurate patient records, strictly adhering to confidentiality standards, and performing billing and payment tasks, including collecting copays during visits.
This full-time, 40-hour per week position offers a competitive salary ranging approximately from $34,200 to $41,200 annually, reflective of geographic location and individual qualifications. In addition to a base salary, the job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and individual performance, enhancing the overall compensation package. Working at CenterWell means joining a supportive team within a forward-thinking healthcare company, offering numerous benefits designed to promote whole-person wellness and work-life balance.
This position requires candidates to participate in the company’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program because it is patient-facing. Medical Receptionists must possess the ability to offer compassionate service aimed at ensuring the best experience for patients. Candidates with prior experience in healthcare settings are preferred, especially those familiar with value-based care models, medical terminology, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are an asset but not mandatory.
Choosing to work at CenterWell means you become part of a leading provider of integrated and personalized senior-focused primary care, gaining an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a company that strives to make healthcare more accessible, comprehensive, and tailored to individual needs. CenterWell is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and affirmative action, fostering an inclusive workplace free from discrimination. If you are looking for a rewarding career where you can make a genuine difference in people’s lives, this Medical Receptionist role at the Gulfport clinic might be the perfect fit.
