Job Description
American Family Care (AFC) stands as one of the premier primary and urgent care providers across the United States, offering comprehensive healthcare services seven days a week without appointments. With a robust network of over 250 state-of-the-art centers, AFC specializes in providing timely and efficient care focused on acute illness treatment, injury management, workers' compensation, and occupational medicine. Each AFC location is equipped with modern in-house labs and x-ray facilities, ensuring patients receive immediate and thorough diagnostic support in a single visit. AFC operates through a combination of company-owned and franchised clinics, delivering accessible healthcare solutions tailored to meet the needs of diverse communities nationwide.
AFC embodies a patient-centric approach grounded in kindness, respect, and affordability. Their mission prioritizes delivering high-quality medical services in convenient settings and hours, emphasizing both clinical excellence and compassionate care. Recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in the U.S., AFC continually expands its footprint to serve over 6 million patients annually. This dynamic growth underscores the organization's dedication to revolutionizing urgent and primary healthcare accessibility.
This exciting opportunity is for the position of Patient Service Representative at one of AFC's franchised clinic locations. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic by managing patient check-in and check-out processes, verifying insurance coverage, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate patient records. Your role directly impacts patient flow and experience, creating a positive and welcoming environment for those seeking care.
Responsibilities include preparing the clinic for daily operations by reviewing the facility and system applications, greeting and registering patients, verifying insurance information efficiently, and assisting with payment processing. You will also manage billing inquiries, support scheduling of follow-up appointments, and provide exceptional customer service. Operational duties such as balancing daily cash transactions and securing financial assets are core to this role, alongside maintaining meticulous documentation and handling other assigned tasks. This position not only demands attention to detail and accuracy but also requires excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to foster strong patient relations.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a medical clerical setting and be proficient with basic computer applications like Microsoft Office. Attention to detail, a well-groomed appearance, and the ability to articulate clearly over the phone are essential attributes. AFC offers a flexible work environment with scheduling designed to accommodate personal needs, and benefits that may include paid time off, health insurance, dental insurance, retirement plans, and more, subject to the policies of the specific franchise location.
Joining AFC means becoming part of a respected healthcare network committed to enriching lives through accessible, high-quality care. This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference and grow professionally within a supportive, community-focused organization. Note that employment terms, compensation, and benefits may vary depending on whether the position is at a company-owned or franchise-operated clinic, each with its own management and employee policies. AFC embraces equal employment opportunity principles and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply and contribute to our mission of exceptional patient care.
