This front-line position plays a crucial role in enhancing patient experience by managing communications and administrative tasks efficiently and courteously. The Receptionist acts as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring that every interaction is handled with empathy and professionalism. Duties include answering multi-line phone systems, greeting patients and vendors, managing patient check-ins and check-outs, and handling insurance and payment processes. This role requires proficiency in data entry within electronic health records (EHR) systems, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to learning and adapting within a fast-paced medical setting. Job Duties
- Answering multi-line phones
- Greeting patients and vendors
- Signing patients in and out, obtaining insurance information and any other necessary data
- Data entry into EHR systems
- Scheduling appointments on the phone and at checkout desks
- Collecting outstanding balances and copays
- Providing patients with support and guidance as needed
- Maintaining safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures
