One immediate opening is available at ProHealth Physicians' Glastonbury Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine for a Medical Receptionist. This full-time role requires dedication to providing friendly, patient-focused service and exhibiting attention to detail. Scheduled for 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturday shifts, the position is located at 290 Western Blvd., Glastonbury, CT. As a Medical Receptionist, the candidate will be essential in ensuring smooth office operations and excellent patient experiences by managing appointment scheduling, triaging requests for clinical urgency, greeting patients, and handling communication with clinical staff through the electronic health record (EHR) system. Beyond administrative duties, the receptionist will also attend to financial processes such as payment batching, maintain compliance with current OSHA and organizational policies, support colleagues, and contribute to overall office teamwork. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or higher
  • One or more years of receptionist or equivalent customer service or admin-related experience
  • Ability to work full-time hours including rotating Saturdays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer proficiency including experience with EHR systems
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of current OSHA and healthcare policies
  • Ability to provide friendly, patient-focused service
  • Willingness to float to local practices as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or higher
  • One or more years of receptionist or equivalent customer service or administrative-related experience
  • Experience working with an electronic health record
  • Office administrative, receptionist, or clerical experience in a medical environment
  • Customer service experience in retail, hospitality, or related fields
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Job Duties

  • Schedule and triage appointment requests for urgency according to approved protocols consistent with ProHealth's Appointment and Scheduling Guidelines
  • Consult medical assistant or licensed clinician for clinical decision making when necessary
  • Use call processing and other applicable functionality in the EHR to take messages and communicate with clinicians
  • Greet patients and conduct check-in process
  • Monitor daily reminder call logs to reschedule appointments as needed
  • Scan and index documents into the EHR ensuring necessary documents, lab results, etc. are available in advance of patient visits
  • Close payment batches at the end of each shift and balance them according to cash control procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of current OSHA and ProHealth policies
  • Assist coworkers as needed to ensure smooth office operation and excellent service
  • Perform other duties as assigned
