Job Description
Oregon Specialty Group (OSG) is a healthcare organization dedicated to providing specialized medical care to patients with a focus on oncology and other complex medical conditions. At OSG, the mission is centered around taking care of people, ensuring that every patient receives compassionate and professional support from the moment they step into the clinic. The Clinical Operations team plays a pivotal role in this mission, offering personal and professional "first touch" services that help establish patient confidence and trust. OSG operates multiple clinic locations including Salem, Silverton, Woodburn, and McMinnville, emphasizing community-centered care and comprehensive patient services.
The Receptionist position at Oregon Specialty Group is essential for setting the tone of the patient’s visit through warm greetings and attentive service. This full-time role, with working hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm including a 30-minute lunch break, is based in Salem with occasional duties at other clinic locations. Receptionists handle critical front-desk responsibilities such as greeting patients, managing patient flow, checking in patients ensuring the accuracy of their information, processing copayments, and orienting patients to the clinic's systems and procedures.
Beyond traditional receptionist duties, the role demands sensitivity to the emotional needs of oncology patients, maintaining confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations, and collaborating efficiently with nurses and other healthcare team members to maintain a seamless workflow. The Receptionist will communicate clearly, manage difficult conversations with empathy and discretion, and assist with billing inquiries when necessary. This role requires a professional demeanor, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced medical environment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service that instills confidence in patients and their families.
OSG values Receptionists who understand the importance of their role in creating a positive patient experience, who take pride in contributing to the team’s goals, and who excel at multitasking with calmness and professionalism even under stress. Proficiency in multiple electronic medical record systems, problem-solving skills, and a demonstrable warm and approachable attitude are key qualities for success in this role. With a supportive environment, OSG provides training and fosters growth for their clinical operations staff ensuring that every team member contributes to the organizational mission to provide outstanding and compassionate healthcare.
