Job Description

Connecticut Orthopaedics (CO) is a leading orthopaedic physician practice that has proudly served the greater New Haven area for over 60 years. Known for its commitment to quality care and patient-focused services, CO has grown through merging with multiple orthopaedic groups, making it the largest privately-owned orthopaedic practice in New England. The practice has established a strong reputation, having been named the number one orthopaedic physician practice in Connecticut by Castle Connolly for the second consecutive year. CO offers a comprehensive range of orthopaedic services including a dedicated physical therapy line, three MRI suites, five acute care orthopaedic walk-in centers, and a surgery center in Branford. The patient care approach extends beyond treatment, emphasizing attentive service to a diverse patient base, including multiple colleges and high schools in the region.

We are currently seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our professional team at either our Hamden or Branford, Connecticut locations. This full-time position presents an exciting opportunity to be on the front lines of patient interaction, serving as a vital liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative operations. Reporting directly to the Office Manager and Clinical Operations Manager, the Medical Receptionist will play a key role in offering a welcoming and efficient check-in experience. Responsibilities include greeting and checking in patients, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and managing patient paperwork. This role also involves entering patient demographics and insurance information into electronic medical records and maintaining cash balances, all while adhering strictly to Connecticut Orthopaedics’ policies including HIPAA and compliance standards. Flexibility within business hours from Monday to Friday is required.

The Medical Receptionist position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, personable, and experienced in handling front desk operations within a healthcare environment, preferably with a background in orthopaedics or physical therapy. Candidates with experience in electronic medical records, insurance authorizations, and those holding an Associate degree or relevant medical administrative certifications will find this role especially rewarding. Connecticut Orthopaedics offers a competitive salary along with benefits such as 401(k) contributions, company-paid life insurance, generous paid time off, and paid holidays. Additional perks include access to employee assistance programs, training opportunities, uniform allowances, and free parking. This position offers a chance to contribute to a respected orthopaedic community that values work-life balance and professional development.
