The company is guided by principles of inclusion, respect, and collaboration, fostering a culture where talented professionals can grow and make meaningful impacts on the communities they serve. Optum offers comprehensive benefits, career development opportunities, and a supportive environment for employees at all levels.\n\nThe Medical Receptionist role at ProHealth Physicians, a part of Optum, is an essential position within the Family Medicine team located in Manchester, CT. This full-time position involves working a 40-hour week from Monday to Friday, with shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM and 6 PM and occasional Saturday rotations. The role is vital in supporting both the care team and patients by managing front-desk operations such as greeting and checking in patients, scheduling appointments, handling telephone inquiries, and processing payments. The Medical Receptionist also maintains accurate demographic information and uses the electronic health record (EHR) system to ensure efficient documentation and communication in line with ProHealth’s procedures and standards.\n\nThis position demands a friendly, patient-focused, and detail-oriented individual who can maintain professionalism and confidentiality while delivering excellent customer service. The candidate may be asked to provide coverage at other regional locations as business needs arise, reflecting the dynamic and flexible nature of health care operations. In addition to direct patient interactions, the Medical Receptionist is responsible for administrative tasks such as managing inboxes and work queues, scanning documents into the EHR system, and balancing payments to prepare accurate deposits. The role encourages growth by recognizing performance and offering pathways to develop skills for other roles within the organization.\n\nThe compensation for this position ranges from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour, based on factors such as experience, education, and local labor markets. As part of UnitedHealth Group’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, the organization ensures a respectful and supportive workplace for all employees. The company also emphasizes environmental responsibility and health equity as core priorities. Candidates must comply with drug-free workplace policies and pass a drug test prior to employment.
