ProHealth Physicians, a key part of the Optum network, is currently expanding its team with an immediate opening for a Medical Receptionist at its Torrington, CT location. This full-time role involves working Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM, supporting the care team by ensuring smooth patient interactions from the moment patients arrive until they leave. The Medical Receptionist will manage patient check-ins and check-outs, schedule appointments, answer phone inquiries, process payments, and maintain patient records accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like EPIC. They will also play a crucial role in protecting patient confidentiality and may be required to provide coverage at other regional practices as needed. The pay for this position ranges from $16 to $29 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Job Requirements

  • High school or GED or higher
  • 1+ year of receptionist or customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Flexibility to provide coverage at different locations as needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school or GED or higher
  • 1+ year of receptionist or customer service experience
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in a primary care setting preferred
  • Experience working with EPIC preferred

Job Duties

  • Conduct check-in and check-out process
  • Answer incoming calls and use EHR to document details of patient inquiries
  • Conduct outreach to patients requiring appointments or service follow-up
  • Schedule appointments using standard scheduling protocols
  • Manage administrative in-basket pools and work queues
  • Scan documents into the EHR per standard protocols
  • Balance payments and prepare deposits
  • Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal and financial information
  • Provide coverage at other ProHealth locations on an ad hoc basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned
