The position available at Endeavor Health is for a full-time Medical Office Receptionist within the Outpatient Headache Clinic located in Chicago, IL. This role is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic healthcare setting and are committed to providing exceptional patient service. The Medical Office Receptionist will work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM CST, with no rotating weekends currently, although this may change in the future. The hourly pay rate ranges from $18.38 to $26.65, depending on the candidate’s experience and expertise.
In this role, the receptionist reports to the Site Supervisor and is responsible for providing essential office support activities, including welcoming patients and visitors, scheduling appointments, and assisting with patient inquiries to ensure a seamless and positive experience. The position requires maintaining accurate patient demographics and eligibility, handling telephone communications, and managing appointment registrations and rescheduling. The receptionist also collects co-pays and balances, follows up on cancellations or missed appointments, and provides information based on organizational policies and procedures. Clerical duties such as operating standard office equipment, managing supplies, and assisting with medical records and clinical personnel support are part of the daily responsibilities. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a neat and organized work environment. - Greet incoming patients and visitors providing hospitable customer service
- refer patients and visitors to appropriate departments
- notify appropriate resources of arrivals in a timely manner
- assure patient demographics and eligibility are correct
- receive and forward telephone calls and relay messages per protocol
- register new patients and schedule appointments
- reschedule appointments and follow up on cancellations
- collect co-pays and balances
- respond to patient and visitor questions using knowledge of policies and procedures
- communicate with other departments and team members for information and problem resolution
- perform various clerical duties including operating office machines and ordering supplies
- assist with medical records and clinical personnel as needed
- maintain work and waiting areas in a professional manner
- perform special projects as assigned
