The Family Care Clinic, a division within Texas Health, is seeking a full-time Medical Office Receptionist to join their team at the Weatherford, TX location. This role offers a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. The clinic focuses exclusively on adult care, operating in a fast-paced environment that encourages growth and ongoing professional development. As a Medical Office Receptionist at the Family Care Clinic, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and efficient check-in process. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, managing appointment scheduling, verifying insurance information, collecting copays and deductibles, and maintaining accurate patient records in electronic medical systems. You will also be responsible for managing communications by answering phone calls and directing them appropriately, confirming appointments, and following up with patients regarding the clinic's Missed Appointment Policy. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy clinic setting.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and professionalism. Familiarity with clinic procedures, regulatory requirements, and insurance authorization processes is essential. Experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system is preferred, along with a background in medical office or business office customer service. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months medical experience in a clinic strongly preferred
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Six months business office customer service experience preferred
  • Outgoing individual with a friendly attitude
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task front desk job responsibilities for a busy family practice/internal medicine clinic
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the medical office receptionist process
  • Under direct supervision, performs patient check-in at the time of visit and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all clinic and regulatory policies are in compliance
  • Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately
  • Schedules appointments according to office guideline
  • Obtains accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts
  • Copies/scans patient access related hard copy materials into the correct location in the electronic medical record
  • Prepares charts for patient appointments making sure all necessary information is complete
  • Conducts all functions associated with patient check-out including pricing services, collecting patient responsibility payments, and scheduling follow-up appointments
  • Performs duties involving record filing and retrieval and assisting with the filing of registration documentation in electronic medical records
  • Confirms next day appointments and alerts patients as to what documentation is needed, including details associated with time-of-service payment
  • Follows up with patients regarding the Missed Appointment Policy and sends out the appropriate communications
  • Performs other duties as assigned
