Southwest Allergy & Asthma Center is a growing medical practice located in the Dallas area, with a focus on providing exceptional allergy and asthma care to patients. We are currently seeking a Front Office Specialist to join our innovative company and support the smooth operation of our clinic. This role is essential for maintaining a welcoming environment for patients and visitors while ensuring efficient management of patient information and office workflows. The Front Office Specialist will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care services, greeting visitors courteously, handling patient intake paperwork, managing electronic medical records, and providing administrative support in line with office policies and procedures. This part-time position involves working Monday through Friday with varying hours, including early mornings and some days extending into the early evening. The successful candidate will embody professionalism, calmness, and courtesy in their demeanor, ensuring patients feel respected and cared for from the moment they enter the clinic. Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance processes such as HMO and PPO, and proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook are required, with knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred. The role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and efficiently within a busy medical office environment. Job Duties
- Follows office policies, procedures, and protocols as appropriate
- communicates effectively with other staff members
- greets visitors with a smile in a polite, prompt, helpful manner and provides necessary instructions or directions
- informs appropriate department or person of patient arrival
- completes necessary paperwork such as fee tickets and uses computer systems for billing
- updates patient information, collects co-pays, provides necessary forms for completion, and obtains signatures
- maintains clean, orderly waiting room and work area
- answers phone promptly and pleasantly, handles patient needs such as making appointments and taking messages
- updates information in electronic patient charts according to policy
- performs specific job activities as assigned
- attends all in-service trainings
- travels to other office locations as required
