Job Description

Health Aid of Ohio (HAO) is a well-established federal supplier and service provider specializing in home healthcare products. HAO is currently seeking a dedicated Medical Delivery Technician to join their team. This position plays a vital role in the company’s operations by ensuring that the delivery, assembly, maintenance, and repair of home healthcare equipment is conducted professionally and efficiently. The Medical Delivery Technician is responsible for assembling and servicing a variety of seating and mobility positioning systems, including wheelchairs and hospital beds, while maintaining high standards of customer service and technical expertise. This role requires a blend of technical skills, physical capability, and strong communication abilities since the technician works closely with customers to provide instruction on the proper use of equipment.

The Medical Delivery Technician reports directly to the Operations Manager and will engage in a variety of responsibilities ranging from equipment delivery and repair to warehouse duties that ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, tagged, and documented. Additional responsibilities include responding to service calls, supporting the on-call rotation for evening and weekend coverage, and assisting other branches as needed. This full-time, in-person position offers an hourly wage of $18.00 and a standard 40-hour workweek.

Job Duties

  • provides high level of customer service at all times
  • responsible for assembly, repair and delivery of all products and equipment
  • responsible for service calls as needed in the office and in the field
  • responsible for some evening and weekend support according to on-call schedules
  • responsible for instructing patients on proper use of care equipment
  • must maintain high level of product knowledge on all provided equipment
  • responsible for all paperwork to be signed, completed accurately
  • responsible for maintaining the physical and mechanical condition of his/her assigned company vehicle and/or work area
  • is responsible for completing all other duties and projects as requested by the Operations Manager
  • participation in the on-call rotation is needed
  • assist as needed in filling in at other branches
  • regular attendance is a necessary and essential function of the job
  • complete 10 hours of continuing education credits relevant to this position, per renewal cycle, including up to 5 hours of in-house facility based in-service continuing education and a minimum of 5 hours of approved peer review continuing education programs as directed by management
  • responsible for verifying that all equipment leaving the warehouse has been cleaned, properly tagged, and properly operational
  • verifies that all driver-dropped equipment has a tag and correct documentation of information and serial numbers (if applicable) on delivery/pickup paperwork
  • responsible for cleaning equipment using madacide, steri-fab, or other manufacturer-recommended materials dropped off in the warehouse's dirty area
  • is responsible for the tagging of cleaned equipment with the proper health aid/va tag
  • check equipment for functionality as per checklist
  • complete minor repairs if needed
  • document parts taken from stock on paperwork for inventory update
  • is responsible for the documentation on the health aid tag which includes the date, initials of the cleaning person and serial number of the equipment
  • maintain and clean the warehouse and facility common areas including bathrooms
  • stock and monitor sufficient levels of bathroom supplies and submit purchase requisitions for approval when supplies are low
  • is responsible for any additional assignments requested by senior management or organization managers
