Job Description
American Expediting is a prominent and trusted provider of health sciences delivery services dedicated to ensuring that critical medical items reach their destinations promptly and safely. The company has positioned itself as a leader in the medical courier industry by focusing on timely and reliable deliveries that support healthcare facilities in maintaining smooth operations and patient care. Known for exceptional service and strong client relationships, American Expediting operates with a commitment to professionalism and efficiency, which is critical in the medical delivery field where meeting deadlines can save lives.
American Expediting is currently seeking highly dependable and professional individuals to join its team as 1099 Independent Contractor Medical Courier Drivers. This role is perfect for individuals who require flexibility in their work schedule and possess a commitment to safety and reliability while driving. Contracting as an independent courier driver allows these individuals to provide on-demand, same-day delivery services to various medical facilities, helping to ensure that vital medical supplies, specimens, and documents are transported swiftly and securely.
This independent contractor position requires the use of your own minivan, making it ideal for drivers who already own and maintain a reliable vehicle suitable for delivering medical items. The role does not impose an earnings cap, offering excellent competitive rates based on performance, and gives access to a loyal and growing customer base. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 6 pm, with demands fluctuating according to client needs, giving couriers the flexibility to manage their own time while earning competitively.
Responsibilities in this role go beyond just driving; independent contractors must ensure excellent customer care, maintain a high standard of work quality, and adhere strictly to safety and regulatory protocols related to medical deliveries. The company also supports its contractors through certifications including TSA certification and specific medical certifications, ensuring all couriers meet industry standards required to operate in sensitive healthcare environments.
Contractors must meet several essential criteria including being at least 21 years old, possessing a valid driver’s license, passing background, and motor vehicle record checks (the costs of which must be covered by the contractor), and maintaining appropriate insurance coverage. This includes liability coverage of 100/300, and having American Expediting listed as additionally insured or provided insurance while under dispatch. Meeting workers’ compensation or occupational accident insurance requirements in accordance with state statutes or minimum coverage levels is also mandatory.
This position is ideal for individuals who are looking to take control of their work schedules while contributing to a vital industry sector. Being a 1099 contractor means managing your own tax reporting, insurance, and health coverage but also offers the freedom of self-employment with significant earning potential. The weekly wage range for this position is between $250 and $1000 based on the workloads and efficiency of the contractor, reflecting the flexible nature of this job.
Joining American Expediting as a medical courier driver provides an opportunity to be part of a mission-driven company dedicated to healthcare support. This role focuses not only on delivery efficiency but also on the professionalism and integrity required to handle sensitive medical deliveries. If you value flexibility, competitive pay, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to healthcare services, this contracting opportunity with American Expediting could be a great fit for you.
