Job Description
American Expediting is a renowned leader in health sciences delivery services, dedicated to providing timely and reliable transportation solutions to medical facilities across the nation. Specializing in expedited delivery of critical medical supplies, specimens, and documentation, American Expediting plays an essential role in supporting the healthcare industry by ensuring that all deliveries are conducted with utmost efficiency and care. The company prides itself on its professional approach, strong client relationships, and commitment to excellence in service, making it a trusted partner for numerous medical institutions.
This opportunity is for a 1099 Independent Contractor Medical Courier Driver position, ideal for individuals seeking flexible work hours and a dynamic driving role. Unlike traditional employment, this role allows contractors to manage their schedules within the framework of ondemand and scheduled deliveries, primarily during the overnight shift from 10PM to 8AM, Monday through Friday, with weekend availability considered an advantage. This position requires contractors to provide their own minivan, serving as the primary vehicle for confidential and time-sensitive medical deliveries.
As a Medical Courier Driver under American Expediting, contractors have the unique chance to contribute meaningfully to the medical community by facilitating quick and secure transport of life-saving materials. The role offers the benefit of an open earning potential with no earnings cap, supported by competitive rates and a strong customer base. Contractors must be committed to upholding safety standards, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a high quality of work, ensuring that all deliveries meet the strict requirements typical of medical logistics.
The company emphasizes the necessity of background and motor vehicle record checks, alongside TSA and other customer-specific medical certifications, to preserve the integrity and security of all medical shipments. American Expediting ensures contractors are given support regarding these certifications. Moreover, contractors must maintain insurance policies meeting specified minimums, including liability and workers' compensation coverage, either independently or via company dispatch scenarios.
This 1099 contract position does not include conventional employee benefits; as such, contractors are responsible for their own insurance, tax considerations, health coverage, and associated expenses. The role is well-suited for self-motivated drivers who value independence and aim to work within a reputable company that plays a critical role in healthcare logistics. With weekly earning potential up to $1400 depending on delivery volume and work schedule efficiency, this contract driver role offers both financial reward and the satisfaction of contributing to a vital service sector.
