Job Description
American Expediting is a prominent leader in the health sciences delivery sector, specializing in providing timely and reliable transportation services to medical facilities across the region. With a firm commitment to excellence, the company has built a reputation for maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional services that often contribute to life-saving outcomes. Operating with a mission to support the healthcare community through efficient logistics, American Expediting ensures critical medical deliveries reach their destinations promptly, enhancing patient care and operational efficiency for healthcare providers. The company is renowned for its dedication to safety, reliability, and professionalism, which are the pillars supporting its ongoing success in the medical courier industry.
This opportunity is for a 1099 Independent Contractor Medical Courier Driver position, ideally suited for individuals seeking flexible work hours and the ability to maintain control over their schedule while earning competitive compensation. As a contractor, you will be responsible for using your own minivan to complete regional deliveries primarily Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with additional weekend work as needed. This role involves expedited delivery services that are critical to the functioning of medical facilities, with a focus on providing same-day deliveries and excellent customer care. Because you will operate as an independent contractor, you will need to manage your own insurance, tax reporting, and health coverage, granting you the freedom and responsibility that come with being self-employed.
The role demands a high degree of reliability, professionalism, and a keen sense of responsibility given that the deliveries often relate to urgent medical needs. Independent Contractor Drivers play a vital role in making timely deliveries that directly support patient health and safety. Joining American Expediting as a courier means becoming part of a dedicated team committed to quality and excellence in delivery services. The compensation ranges from $700 to $1500 per week, reflecting the value placed on dependable drivers who contribute significantly to the company’s mission and clients' satisfaction. Contractors will also be expected to comply with TSA and customer-specific medical certifications to ensure compliance and security during delivery operations.
Contractors must provide their own minivan and meet strict requirements including being 21 years or older, maintaining a clean driving record, and undergoing background and motor vehicle record checks. Proof of insurance with specific liability coverage and workers' compensation (or occupational accidents) per state statute or $1 million occurrence/accident coverage is mandatory, ensuring protection for both the contractor and the clients served. American Expediting may also be listed as additionally insured on the insurance declaration page or provide insurance coverage while the contractor is dispatched, aligning with industry standards for courier services. This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals who value independence, enjoy driving, and want to play a crucial role in the healthcare delivery system while balancing work and personal life on their terms.
