Job Description

American Expediting is a well-established provider of health sciences delivery services specializing in timely and reliable transport of critical medical items. The company is dedicated to maintaining high standards of service, fostering strong client relationships, and supporting the healthcare industry by ensuring that vital supplies reach their destinations quickly. Operating as a leading courier service in the medical delivery sector, American Expediting connects laboratories, hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities with an efficient network of drivers who facilitate expedited delivery. This ensures the smooth operation of medical services and contributes to saving lives through prompt and accurate delivery of urgent items. The company prioritizes quality and professionalism in every delivery and values teamwork, reliability, and commitment from its contractors.

The role being offered is for a 1099 Independent Contractor Medical Courier Driver with a focus on providing medical courier services using the contractor’s own minivan. This position allows for significant flexibility, catering to those looking for contract-based work with no cap on earnings and excellent compensation rates. The work schedule primarily spans Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, but may include weekends on an as-needed and on-demand basis, which makes it ideal for individuals seeking flexible hours or supplementary income. The contractor will be entrusted with important delivery tasks that are critical to healthcare operations, including punctual pickups and drop-offs of medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, and other healthcare-related packages. Independent contractors will operate autonomously but must adhere to strict safety and quality protocols to ensure every delivery mission is executed flawlessly.

Contractors joining American Expediting are required to have their own minivan, which must meet the company’s standards for safe operation. This independent contractor setup places the onus of vehicle maintenance, insurance, and regulatory compliance on the driver. The company requires proof of insurance coverage that includes liability limits and may require listing the company as additionally insured or coverage while under dispatch. Safety checks such as background verification and motor vehicle record screening are mandatory prerequisites, ensuring that only responsible and reliable drivers are entrusted with sensitive medical deliveries. Certification requirements include obtaining TSA certification and customer-specific medical certifications, which are provided upon contracting. Additionally, workers’ compensation or occupational accident insurance must be secured by the contractor, complying with state statutes or coverage values.

Ideal candidates are professional, self-motivated, and committed to providing outstanding service. Being an independent contractor means managing one’s own business practices, including insurance, taxes, and health coverage, but comes with the added benefit of autonomy in scheduling and the potential for lucrative earning opportunities. This role offers the satisfaction of contributing directly to healthcare outcomes by performing a crucial logistical function for medical providers. Contractors act as the frontline link ensuring critical medical goods and documents reach destinations promptly and securely, ultimately supporting patient care and medical research. With a wage range estimated between 500 and 1000 dollars per week, this position offers an excellent opportunity for responsible drivers with a minivan to join a respected company in the medical delivery sector and advance their careers within a structured yet flexible framework.
