Job Description
American Expediting is a leading provider of health sciences delivery services dedicated to ensuring timely and reliable deliveries to medical facilities across the region. With a strong commitment to exceptional service and building trusted relationships with clients, American Expediting plays a crucial role in supporting the healthcare industry by providing expedited delivery services that help save lives. The company specializes in reliable medical courier services that require precision, care, and punctuality, making it a trusted name among medical providers. As a company, American Expediting values professionalism, safety, and efficiency, offering flexible contract opportunities for drivers who are dedicated to these principles.
The role available is for a 1099 Independent Contractor Medical Courier Driver. This opportunity is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work schedules and the ability to earn based on their efforts without a cap on earnings. The position requires the contractor to use their own minivan to perform on-demand medical deliveries. This role is not a traditional employment but a contract position, allowing contractors to manage their own schedules while contributing to a vital service. Scheduled hours generally range from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with weekend work as needed. The deliveries are regional and may include longer distances, providing variety and scope within the courier duties.
Independent contractor drivers will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of medical items and documents to healthcare facilities. This entails maintaining a strong customer service orientation as timely and careful delivery of sensitive medical cargo is critical. Contractors are expected to adhere to safety standards and ensure the highest quality of service while on the road. Certification such as TSA and other customer-specific medical certifications will be provided upon contracting, enhancing the contractor's qualifications and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Financially, this contract position offers between 700 and 1500 dollars per week, dependent on delivery volume and efforts. Since contractors are independent, they will manage their own insurance, health coverage, and tax reporting. American Expediting requires specific insurance coverage levels including 100/300 liability coverage, and mandates that the company be listed as additionally insured or that insurance be offered while under dispatch. Contractors must also maintain workers’ compensation or occupational accident insurance per state statutes or a 1 million dollar occupational accident policy.
In summary, American Expediting provides an excellent opportunity for reliable, safety-conscious individuals with a minivan to become independent contractors within an important medical logistics network. This position offers competitive pay, flexible working hours, and the chance to contribute to lifesaving work through essential delivery services.
