Job Description
American Expediting is a premier health sciences delivery services company dedicated to providing fast, reliable, and secure transportation solutions for medical facilities. As a trusted name in the medical courier industry, American Expediting supports healthcare providers by ensuring the timely delivery of critical medical supplies and documents that often play a crucial role in patient care. The company prides itself on professionalism, efficiency, and building strong relationships with its clients. Operating with a customer-first approach, American Expediting leverages experienced contractors to maintain its standard of excellence throughout the delivery process.
This opportunity is for a 1099 Independent Contractor Medical Courier Driver who owns their vehicle, specifically a minivan. As an independent contractor with American Expediting, you will enjoy the flexibility of managing your schedule while receiving competitive compensation for your services. The position requires dedication, reliability, and a high level of professionalism because the deliveries typically include sensitive medical materials that need to be handled with utmost care and urgency.
The medical courier role involves performing on-demand same-day deliveries, mostly operating Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with occasional weekend work as needed. Couriers will typically dock high and may be required to help with asset recovery. The work environment involves being on the road frequently, interacting with medical personnel, and ensuring the timely handoff of critical items that help save lives. The position offers no earnings cap with excellent pay rates and access to a large, consistent customer base.
Independent contractors are responsible for providing their own minivan, insurance, and meeting specific regulatory requirements such as TSA certification and customer-specific medical certifications (which will be provided during the contracting process). Contractors must also be willing to clear background checks and motor vehicle record checks to meet compliance standards. American Expediting takes the safety and compliance aspects seriously to maintain the quality and trust inherent in their services.
This contractor role is ideal for an individual who enjoys independent work, values flexible scheduling, and wants to contribute to the healthcare industry in a meaningful way. While it is a contract position, successful couriers can build long-term working relationships with the company and benefit from steady work. Contractors handle their own tax reporting, insurance, and health coverage responsibilities, underscoring the independent nature of the job.
The wage range for this contract position typically falls between $500 and $1000 per week, depending on the volume and distance of deliveries completed. This offers a strong income opportunity for reliable drivers who meet the requirements. Working as a medical courier for American Expediting is not only a job but a chance to play a key role in the critical supply chain of health sciences, ensuring that medical products reach their destinations quickly and safely.
