Serving the healthcare industry, American Expediting specializes in health sciences logistics, focusing on urgent and same-day deliveries that can literally save lives. This established company values professionalism, reliability, and a dedication to customer satisfaction, making it a trusted partner in the medical courier and delivery services industry. As a contract-based organization, American Expediting provides opportunities for independent contractors to join their team and contribute to the vital role of medical deliveries within the healthcare system.
The role of the 1099 Independent Contractor Medical Courier Driver with American Expediting is an excellent opportunity for reliable and safety-conscious drivers who own their own box trucks and are looking for flexible work arrangements. This contract position allows individuals to work on their own schedule primarily from Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm, with weekend work considered a plus. Drivers will be responsible for providing expedited delivery services to various medical establishments, including hospitals, laboratories, and clinics. The work involves on-demand courier assignments that ensure timely and efficient transportation of important medical items such as specimens, pharmaceuticals, and medical equipment. Drivers play a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers by facilitating rapid deliveries that are essential to patient care and medical research.
As an independent contractor, drivers will be accountable for their own vehicle maintenance, insurance, fuel costs, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This position offers no earnings cap with excellent rates and a strong, supportive customer base, providing significant earning potential for motivated contractors. American Expediting encourages professionalism, safety, and dependability in all drivers to maintain their high standards of service. Additionally, contractors are encouraged to obtain TSA Certification and customer-specific medical certifications, which American Expediting will help facilitate after contracting.
This role is ideal for those who appreciate the independence of contract work but still want to be part of a respected and efficient medical delivery team. It requires attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, punctuality, and the ability to handle urgent delivery requests. The contractor must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license, with successful completion of background and motor vehicle record checks. Insurance coverage must include liability and workers' compensation or occupational accident coverage as per state statute, with American Expediting listed as additionally insured when under dispatch. The company provides a supportive environment for independent contractors aiming to grow their delivery business within the health sciences sector, making this an excellent position for entrepreneurial drivers with a commitment to healthcare support.
