Job Description
American Expediting is a leading provider of health sciences delivery services dedicated to ensuring timely and reliable deliveries to medical facilities. Known for our exceptional service and strong client relationships, we specialize in expedited delivery solutions that directly contribute to saving lives. Our company operates within the highly specialized medical courier industry, serving healthcare providers who rely on rapid and secure transport of critical specimens, samples, and pharmaceuticals. We understand the importance of precision, safety, and professionalism in this sector, which is why we meticulously select and support our couriers.
As part of our commitment to excellence, we're currently seeking 1099 Independent Contractor Medical Courier Drivers equipped with box trucks to join our dynamic team. This contract role provides an outstanding opportunity for responsible, safety-conscious drivers who seek flexibility and competitive earnings. The position requires you to use your own box truck, maintain your insurance and fuel expenses, and adhere to all regulatory and company standards. Independent contractors enjoy no earning caps, excellent pay rates, and a steady customer base that demands prompt and reliable service.
Typical work hours run Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with weekends on an as-needed basis. Contractors are authorized to deliver on-demand with a focus on same-day services, ensuring that medical facilities receive their necessary deliveries without delay. This role is crucial not only for the operational success of the company but also for public health, as timely medical delivery services can have life-saving implications.
Contractors can expect to engage in a variety of delivery tasks that involve careful handling and prompt execution. In addition to driving, contractors must maintain stellar customer service and uphold quality standards consistently. While this position offers the advantage of flexible independent work, it also demands a high level of responsibility, reliability, and compliance with regulatory guidelines, including obtaining TSA and customer-specific medical certifications provided upon contracting.
As a contractor with American Expediting, you must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license and willing to undergo background and motor vehicle record checks. Proof of insurance with appropriate liability coverage is mandatory, alongside workers’ compensation or occupational accident insurance per state requirements or $1 million occurrence/accident coverage if applicable. The contracting relationship emphasizes independence, meaning contractors handle their tax reporting, health coverage, and other benefits personally.
This position offers a competitive weekly income ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 based on workload and performance, reflecting a robust opportunity for those seeking a flexible and lucrative delivery role within the vital health sciences field.
