This extensive network comprises the primary UCI Medical Center, a 459-bed acute care hospital located in Orange, California, as well as four affiliated hospitals and physician groups spanning Orange and Los Angeles counties, along with numerous ambulatory care centers distributed throughout the region. UCI Medical Center has been recognized among America’s Best Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report for an impressive 23 consecutive years, cementing its position as a leading provider of advanced healthcare. The hospital serves a vast population of nearly 4 million residents, including communities in Orange County, western Riverside County, and southeast Los Angeles County. UCI Health is equipped with specialized services, featuring Orange County’s only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, a high-risk perinatal and neonatal program, and an American College of Surgeons-verified Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma center. Additionally, the institution houses a gold-level geriatric emergency department and a regional burn center, which together underscore its commitment to high-quality patient care across multiple specialties.

The Food Service Worker role at UCI Health forms an essential part of the hospital’s operational efficiency and patient satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Food Services Manager, individuals in this position support various food service activities within the kitchen, cafeteria, dishroom, and patient service areas. The incumbent works closely alongside other food service personnel to provide nutritious and timely meals to patients, staff, and visitors, thereby contributing to the hospital’s overall goal of fostering a caring and supportive environment. This position requires flexibility, as workers must be available for varied shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the dynamic service needs of the healthcare facility. Besides the critical food service duties, the role also upholds the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with strict health regulations, ensuring a safe and pleasant experience for everyone utilizing the hospital’s dining facilities. UCI Health values employees who demonstrate attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to customer service excellence, making the Food Service Worker a vital contributor to the smooth functioning of hospital operations and patient care excellence. We encourage those who are motivated by service and keen on making a meaningful impact within a reputable academic health system to consider this rewarding opportunity.
