Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or actively working towards completion
- Ability to provide timely and professional communication
- Strong communication skills including active listening and empathy
- Proficient in basic technology
- Willingness to learn patient engagement and EMR software
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Strong sense of professionalism
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Physical ability to perform required duties
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or actively pursuing completion
- Administrative experience preferably in a medical office
- Strong communication skills including active listening and empathy
- Proficiency in basic technology such as Microsoft products
- Willingness to learn patient engagement and electronic medical record software
- Ability to multi-task and work independently with excellent organizational skills
- Strong professionalism and teamwork abilities
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both orally and in writing
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions
- Physical ability to perform duties including hearing, seeing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling
Job Duties
- Obtain patient records and test results
- Coordinate daily administrative tasks
- Verify patient information by interviewing patients and recording medical history
- Prepare patients for examination by conducting preliminary physical tests including blood pressure, weight, and temperature
- Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality by completing medical records and diagnostic coding
- Provide overall support for providers and clinic operations
- Instruct patients on sample collection and administer injections and prescribed medications as directed
- Observe and report changes in patient conditions
- Ensure accurate and timely patient chart entries in electronic medical records
- Assist with scheduling tests and treatments and arrange referrals to specialists
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake
- Assist with lab testing, phlebotomy, and minor procedures
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment
- Inventory supplies and maintain equipment
- Adhere to professional standards, policies, and regulations
- Demonstrate professionalism and teamwork
- Recognize and respond promptly to emergent situations
