Job Description
ChenMed is a family-owned and physician-led healthcare company dedicated to transforming healthcare for seniors across America. With a unique approach that focuses on close physician-patient relationships, ChenMed aims to improve the health and well-being of the populations they serve by providing comprehensive primary care that is personalized, compassionate, and effective. ChenMed is rapidly expanding in response to the growing need for high-quality senior healthcare and seeks talented individuals who share the same passion for making a meaningful difference in people's lives. The company prides itself on a supportive work environment, opportunities for career growth, and a culture that values innovation, empathy, and teamwork.
The Spanish Bilingual Medical Assistant role at ChenMed is a vital position within a physician-led care team, dedicated to providing excellent and comprehensive primary care specifically to seniors. This role blends clinical and administrative responsibilities, requiring the assistant to be cross-trained in both aspects to ensure smooth operation of medical centers. The assistant is responsible for a wide range of tasks including taking patient vital signs, recording medical histories, supporting physicians during examinations, performing routine screening tests, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. Because the position demands Spanish bilingual proficiency, the Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in bridging language barriers and ensuring that Spanish-speaking patients fully understand their treatment plans and care instructions.
In addition to direct patient care, the Medical Assistant is also entrusted with performing non-critical medical procedures such as collecting lab specimens, performing basic lab tests, administering medications under supervision, and applying first aid treatments. This role also includes managing supplies, maintaining accurate documentation in alignment with OSHA safety standards, and supporting patient communication by handling phone messages and prescription calls to pharmacies. The Medical Assistant provides health coaching to promote healthy lifestyle choices, following up with patients regularly to ensure adherence and improvement.
ChenMed values employees who have excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication abilities, and a compassionate heart for patients. The ideal candidate must also exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and efficient in a busy medical environment. A proactive mindset focused on problem-solving and teamwork is essential for success in this role. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively serve the diverse patient population.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited vocational nursing school, and an active LPN license for the state of employment. IV Therapy Certification is necessary if mandated by the state's Board of Nursing. Practical experience as an LPN and basic life support certification from recognized institutions are also required. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and geriatric care is preferred. The role offers a competitive pay range of $17.00 to $24.26 per hour, with compensation adjusted based on experience, education, and other factors. Additionally, this position may be eligible for bonuses or commissions. ChenMed offers comprehensive employee benefits and aims to foster a positive work-life balance, making it a rewarding place for healthcare professionals to grow their careers and contribute to better healthcare outcomes for seniors.
