Job Description

Marathon Health is a nationally recognized healthcare provider specializing in advanced primary care services across the United States. Serving over 2.5 million eligible patients through an extensive network of approximately 630 employer and union-sponsored clients, Marathon Health operates more than 680 health centers in 41 states. The company also extends its reach by offering virtual primary care and mental health services, making comprehensive healthcare accessible nationwide in all 50 states. Dedicated to transforming healthcare delivery, Marathon Health emphasizes a patient-first approach that ensures convenient access to both in-person and virtual care. This innovative model not only improves health outcomes for patients but also significantly reduces healthcare costs for its clients.

Marathon Health is known for its inclusive and collaborative work environment where exceptional talent is nurtured to provide expert and compassionate healthcare. The organization has received multiple accolades, including being a five-time winner of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare and a six-time recipient of the Best in KLAS award for employer-sponsored healthcare services. This recognition speaks to its commitment to quality healthcare delivery and a positive workplace culture.

The role available is for an experienced Medical Assistant who will be an integral part of the care team. This full-time or part-time position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $23.00 to $30.00 depending on geographic location, experience, and skill level. Medical Assistants at Marathon Health play a unique dual role, combining responsibilities similar to a Medical Receptionist and clinical duties typically assigned to medical assistants. They work closely with primary care physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive exceptional care and a seamless guest experience.

In this role, Medical Assistants manage the entire patient experience from the moment patients arrive until their visit concludes. Responsibilities include escorting patients to exam rooms, reviewing medical histories, taking vitals, performing blood draws and injections, preparing and administering approved medications, and assisting with procedures. They also handle front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, processing medical record requests, coordinating specialist visits, and managing referrals. Accurate documentation in medical records and timely communication of test results to patients are key components of their duties.

This position requires a collaborative mindset as Medical Assistants partner with other care team members to develop and execute individualized patient care plans while addressing gaps in care. The role demands proficiency in both clinical and administrative tasks, reflecting the organization’s innovative model where medical support staff play a comprehensive role in delivering high-quality health services.

Marathon Health values candidates who bring prior experience in primary care medical assisting, relevant certification, and a dedication to patient-centered care. The company provides a positive work environment bolstered by extensive benefits including health insurance starting from the first of the month after employment, paid time off including holidays, and no out-of-pocket costs for scrubs. This role offers an opportunity to join a leading healthcare services provider revered for groundbreaking work in employer-sponsored healthcare and employee wellness.
