The Medical Assistant position at Pediatrix is designed to support physicians and clinical staff by delivering specialized patient care through a blend of clinical and administrative duties tailored to the practice’s focus area. Job Requirements
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- certification as a Medical Assistant preferred or required by state
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- one or more years experience in an office-based healthcare setting preferred
- ability to follow universal precautions, OSHA standards, and HIPAA regulations
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- superior customer service skills
- high level of professionalism
- ability to maintain patient confidentiality
Job Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- certification as a Medical Assistant preferred or required by the state
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- one or more years of office-based medical assisting experience preferred

- knowledge of universal precautions, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations
Job Duties
- Greet and escort patient to exam room and obtain medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints and document in medical records
- assist with patient flow to ensure timely visits
- support delivery of high-quality patient experience through excellent communication and customer service
- assist physician or advanced practice provider with medical exams and office procedures
- perform medical procedures such as specimen collection, injections, immunizations, and venipuncture as per state regulations
- communicate instructions and information to patients ensuring understanding
- assist with scheduling tests, treatments, and follow-up appointments and communicate test results to patients
- maintain clean and stocked exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and manage medical supplies
- respond to calls and requests for referrals and appointments and process messages from patients and clinic staff
- maintain patient files and records
