We are currently seeking a compassionate and organized Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. This role is crucial in supporting healthcare professionals by managing both clinical and administrative tasks that directly contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centered, and timely care. The successful candidate will engage in a variety of responsibilities, including taking detailed patient histories, preparing patients for examinations, assisting during clinical procedures, and managing medical records efficiently. Additionally, this position requires travel to our Greater Heights clinic to provide coverage, highlighting the need for flexibility and adaptability. The Medical Assistant will function as an integral part of the clinical team, ensuring that patient care is delivered with the highest quality and adhering to safety and privacy standards such as HIPAA guidelines. Responsibilities will range from rooming patients and recording vital signs, medication lists, and medical histories to performing routine clinical tests like hearing and vision screenings, EKGs, spirometry, and specimen collections. They will also prepare and maintain clinical rooms and supplies to ensure readiness for patient visits, assist with specialty procedures, and handle a range of administrative tasks, including scheduling follow-ups, managing paperwork, and facilitating communication between patients and providers.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred
- Six months experience or completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association (AHA)
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently to move objects
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines
- Residency in the State of Texas
- Willingness to travel to Greater Heights clinic for coverage
- Security-sensitive position compliance according to Texas Education Code and Texas Government Code
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred
- Six months experience or completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Proficiency in medical software and clinical equipment use
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Job Duties
- Perform responsibilities in a manner that promotes quality patient care and customer service satisfaction
- Effectively participate in planning and preparing for patient visits ensuring appropriate schedules, test results, and clinic specific requirements are available
- Room patients consistent with clinic needs while determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history and other required information
- Perform appropriate hearing and vision testing, EKG, spirometry, point of care testing, specimen collection, equipment cleaning/reprocessing, and other requested procedures as competency validated
- Prepare and stock rooms and clinic supplies in advance of clinic visits and clean rooms appropriately between patients
- Assist with routine and specialty procedures
- Schedule patients for follow-up appointments or referrals and perform routine clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, and faxing
