This job posting is for a Medical Assistant position within Henry Ford Health System’s internal staffing department. This unique internal staffing team is designed to maintain sufficient coverage across the health system by addressing short-term and unplanned staffing needs such as vacations, call-offs, leaves of absence, and fluctuations in patient census or acuity. The Medical Assistants in this role will float to various Henry Ford clinics, providing clinical support wherever needed, which requires flexibility in both location and scheduling. The minimum commitment is two days per week, with opportunities for full-time schedules available. Typically, work hours are Monday through Friday during 8-hour shifts, with occasional optional weekend shifts that come with a pay differential.

The Medical Assistant role involves performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks under the direct supervision of healthcare providers and nursing leadership. Responsibilities include greeting and escorting patients, taking medical histories, recording vital signs, preparing patients for examinations or procedures, and assisting physicians during these procedures. Demonstrating clinical competence and providing compassionate care are central to this position.
